It would be wrong to contradict the notion that connects beer with happiness and more pleasure. But for many people for centuries it was a trade, a way to make a living, and one which involved a great deal of hard work under difficult conditions. It also carried with it uncertainty about the work and uncertainty about the outcome of all the effort.
